The difference between working at home and being stuck at home is all in your head. Cave people needed their sanctuary, so do we. The trick is to break old habits. If you are not used to being “more” productive you won’t be. Habits are hard to break and start. You need twenty-one days to apply and make good a new habit, and the same for getting rid of one.
My chapter of RWA is having an April challenge, similar to NaNoWriMo. My only advice here is to spend some time editing and rewriting. Agents and publishers’ editors cringe when they get one of these “rushed” manuscripts. Make yourself proud that you put out a great story. And how will you know that it’s good enough to show off? Your heart will beat true. You’ll feel like you fell in love with your characters. You’ll know your story will warm hearts (many hearts). Finally, your characters will live on.
